Via a romantic railway Berchtesgaden is connected to the intercity railroad Munich - Salzburg (Balkan). From the border station Freilassing a single track railroad leads to Berchtesgaden via Bad Reichenhall.
The trains leave at least every hour. In addtion to the normals trains, which maintain a shuttle service between Freilassing and Berchtesgaden, there are also intercity trains coming from the north of Germany, which will stop in Berchtesgaden (and back of course).
All trains on this route, in the region Berchetsgaden, southg form Bad Reichhall, make a stop at the following railway stations: Bad Reichenhall-Kirche, Bayrisch Gmain and Bischofswiesen.

You can reach us from serveral German airports. The airport of destination is Salzburg airport. From there, you can come to Berchtesgaden by rail, by scheduled service bus or of cource by taxi.
Of course, Salzburg Airport is connectied to the public transport in Salzburg city. You can reach the main railway station by bus. From there, the trains and busses leave for Berchtesgaden.
It takes ca. 55 minutes to reach Berchtesgaden by train, which leaves every hour, most of the time you don't have to change trains once.
By bus from Salzburg cental staion, it takes ca. 50 minutes (fast service) to reach Station Berchtesgaden. The distance berween these two stations is ca. 22 km.
